Get these in on time so we can start the league on time. As usual there is not much wiggle room in the
schedule.

Soccer-Wars / NPSL Final Four in Madison
This Week! (new)
Rocket City United is hosting
its first annual soccer-wars event this year, an annual summer festival geared
around the beautiful game. The feature
event for this year is the NPSL Final Four event that will run from Thursday
through Saturday. Other events include a combine, All-Star game, and the Rocket
City Invitational Adult 6-aside. You can find the
flyer here. Below are the dates for the
events
Thursday: 5:30pm Semi Final (Sacramento Gold vs. FC Sonic)
8:00pm Semi Final (Chatanooga FC
vs. Madison 56ers)
Friday: Armed Forces Night and All Star Game
We honor those who serve by providing free admittance, food and
beverages to 150 soldiers from the 832nd ordnance battalion Bravo and Charlie
units from Redstone Arsenal. The evening will
culminate in an All Star Game featuring top players from the NPSL.
Festival Opens: 3:00 PM CDT
Third Place Game: 5:30 PM CDT
All Star Game: 8:00 PM CDT Rocket City United will take on the NPSL All-Stars
Saturday: Parade begins: 5:00 PM CDT
NPSL Championship: 7:30 PM CDT
Please note, all games to be held at City of Madison Schools Stadium. All times are Central. Stadium gates open one hour before kickoff.
Rocket City Invitational Women Needed
(July 31st – August 1st) (updated)
We are looking for 5 or 6
more women to sign up. There is an
individual signup sheet for players looking for teams (Men and Women can sign
up). We are trying to form a few women’s teams for the
tournament. Spread the word if you know of any women players!

Also, for those
participating, there is an after party at the Station II at Bridge Street following
the NPSL Final on Saturday night. We’ve lined up some free refreshments for
participants courtesy of the tournament directors.
AYSO in Madison is Looking for Coaches
AYSO in
Madison is searching for volunteers for U6 Soccer in Madison.
They need about 3 volunteers or they will have to deny around 20 kids of
playing soccer this fall. If you are
interested in helping out please contact:

HAITI Relief
Ryan from the pwt-blog and Josh Russo from the Haiti Food Drive are coordinating a soccer equipment drive through his organization. They will be collecting new or used soccer shirts, shorts, socks, balls, shoes, etc. You can drop your gear off at Pete’s Soccer Shop
